So the post that was “Perfection is off the table; goodness is not” has become a chapter. That keeps happening, so after only five years of deliberation, I’ve decided I’m going to take that chapter, and two others from the writing I’ve been amassing, and then I’m going to query agents and submit it as a book proposal.
For some time, I’ve wanted to write (a real, live book!) on healing from church hurt while keeping a soft heart – both toward God and His people, His bride.
This is not the book where the rug gets pulled out from underneath you and you deconstruct your faith until nothing is left.
This is not the book where you reframe orthodoxy over and over until truth loses all meaning and anything goes.
This is the book I desperately wished someone would’ve written when I was walking those dark and barren roads, to give me hope that they wouldn’t stay that way.
Some company for the road. Some mile markers pointing toward Home. Someone to remind me that I would see the goodness of the Lord in the land of the living (Ps 27:13), that despair is never a reliable roadmap, and that hope springs eternal.
If that’s you, or you’ve been there, this book is for you.
Just thought I’d let my fellow pew warmers know first. And if you know any agents…let me know.
